First Demolition are a forward thinking business who believe demolition is an exact science so they wanted to fully capture the daily site activity in order to track project progress and forecast productivity.
As many businesses still do they used Excel to capture the day to day numbers of site activity, which lead to multiple files for the types of workflows in different formats, that didn’t support their requirements.
As a result First Demolition say it will provide them with:

The data the App records is used in a Power BI report to provide them with activity metrics so they can manage their clients expectations.
VolkerRail
As part of a wider Digital Transformation initiative, multiple projects worked together to modernise operations. One of the most impactful was a Power App developed for the Welding team, ensuring full compliance with auditable regulations.
This is enabled them to:
- Get immediate access to any individual installation in case of an investigation into an incident on the rail infrastructure.
- Gain certification for the installation but equally manage and fix any non-conforming welds once inspected.
- Build a database of work done to understand performance to highlight successes and manage a demanding workload.

ISS Labour
ISS Labour are a national tier one labour supplier to rail organisations in the UK. Their extensive scope of services allows us to deliver complete solutions to our clients, which has given them a competitive edge within the industry.
As a result of the amount of operatives they have to process and the amount of time it took to register and manually enter onto the various systems they made the decision to streamline their Onboarding.
Using a combination of Power Automate, Azure Functions and Power BI they were able to:
- Save 20 hours a month through removing double keying and then producing a HR report to understand key metrics.
- Remove the chance of human error where an email signals a new applicant needs application forms sending and an approval process followed.
- Enable real-time data for key insights to understand how many different types of operatives they had on their books and also understood any resource gaps.
